Chopin Prelude transcribed for solo pedal harp by Dominique Piana |

Chopin's unique style is derived from devices such as dwelling on the dissonant note of appogiaturas, moving between major and minor modes or, as illustrated in this prelude, lingering in a "harmonic daydream" upon repeated notes and chords acting as a hypnotic drone. The fifteenth in a collection of pieces written in each of the 24 keys, in imitation of Bach. |

Prelude and Romance for Three Harps |

This original composition by Alexander Glazunov (1865-1936) for three harps was written for the Marinel Trio, three sisters who emigrated from Russia in their twenties. As young children, they were educated in Paris along with their harp studies. This publication, edited by Dewey Owens is a really wonderful additional to the repertory of any intermediate level pedal harp ensemble. The parts could also be divided to provide easier arrangements for more ensemble members. |
