Harp Sheet Music By Title

This movement, based on the pentatonic scale, is taken from Ravel's "Mother Goose Suite" originally written as a piano duet and described as "five children's pieces." This movement "Laiderinnette, imperatrice des pagodes" (Little Ugly Girl, Empress of the Pagodas), was based on a story called "The Green Serpent." The pentatonic nature of this piece reflects the association of the far east (Pagodas) with this pentatonic sound. Ravel orchestrated this work and it has also been performed as a ballet - like much of Ravel's music it's lush beauty falls very naturally on the harp.

A work for thee-harp ensemble by Meg Robinson. The piece can be played by an ensemble of beginning to intermediate lever or pedal harpists, as each of the three parts is written with a different degree of technical difficulty.

The classic Irish ballad is given a light jazz treatment. Offers two options for coda section. Challenging, but well-suited for the strong intermediate level pedal harpist. Meticulous attention given to passing tones in inner voices, resulting in a complex, rich texture. Many pedal changes, these are marked. 5 pages.

This work, whose title translates to "Dance of the Sprites," is a lovely example of Renie's beautiful and virtuosic compositional style. The piece consists of sweeping gestures in the harp's upper register while the left hand plays chordal and arpeggiated accompaniment figures.
