Peters, Nancy F., Seascapes for Pedal Harp
A suite of original solos for beginner-intermediate pedal harp by Nancy F. Peters. These works were composed for early pedal harp students. The works are purposefully fairly simple in texture and of moderate length to allow the student pedal harpist to focus on making smooth and accurate pedal changes. Each work contains different pedal harp techniques for the harpist - Smooth Channels to the Sea maintains a constant rhythm to allow the student to concentrate on pedaling while The Kite uses trills, rhythmic variations, rubato and an example of cross-pedaling. Misty Islands is composed in a traditional classical style; with a lovely melody and rhythmic variation to prepare the student to move on to more complex classical repertory.
