Tournier, M., Images Op. 35, Suite 3 and 4
Marcel Lucien Tournier (1879-1951) studied harp under R. Martenot and Alphonse Hasselmans at the Paris Conservatoire, where he was awarded first prize in harp in 1899– In 1912 he was appointed harp professor at the Paris Conservatoire where he trained many well-known harpists. His Images pour Harpe are wonderful examples of Tournier's technical brilliance as a harpist as well as his ability to flawlessly display the harp's harmonic and melodic capabilities. Each chord, arpeggio, and harmonic in this piece is evidence of Tournier's skill at bringing out the harp's incredible sound at its richest and most full. 50 pages.
