In this arrangement, harpist and composer Frank Voltz takes two familiar Scott Joplin pieces and weaves them into a lively and exciting arrangement that is fun to play. The "Peacherine Rag" and "Bethena" are two pieces that are heard often in movie scores and are recognizably Scott Joplin but are not so "overdone" as "The Entertainer" or "The Maple Leaf Rag." All parts are required, i.e., no parts are optional. The melody bounces back and forth through all the parts. All parts are the same level of intermediate difficulty. Lever and pedal markings are clearly notated. Lever changes are easy with plenty of time to engage the lever between notes. Page turns are easy. A full-size Conductor's Score is included (also easy to read). This is a great finale for student recitals. This is also a great teaching aid for harp instructors.

Playable on a 34 string lever harp, some pieces could be played on a harp with fewer strings. Duets could be sung or the vocal line could be played by flute or violin. Nicely voiced arrangements are very satisfying to play and hear. 12 pages

With A Hundred Pipers, Annie Laurie, Hail to the Chief, John Anderson My Jo, The Campbells are Comin', and Loch Lomond arranged for lever and pedal harp duet. The pedal (teacher) part is fuller and arpeggiated, of intermediate difficulty. The lever (student) consists mainly of the melody. Single notes in both hands, no chords, with some drones in the left hand. The right hand plays quite high, so knowledge of notes above the treble staff is necessary. Comes as two separate books, with dynamics and fingerings well marked. This medley would make a nice recital piece. 11 pages total.
